87% Believe Office Remains Essential

Savills Office FiT conducted a survey, analysing over 100,000 landlord and occupier clients and office workers across the UK & EMEA. The survey was launched last year to give insights and design-led advice due to the pandemic. This survey looks at how the views and preferences of those have changed over the course of the year.

Some of the findings from the survey include:

  • 87% believe the office remains essential for successful business operations post-pandemic.

  • There was an increase of people citing the ability to concentrate is best facilitated from the office.

  • 55% want to work in the office at least three days per week

  • Of those surveyed, Savills found more people believe the office best facilitates mental health.

Andrew Cunningham, Director of Offices at Savills Ireland said, "Current leasing activity in the Dublin market confirms that the future of the office is bright – but it will also be different, as these results reveal. 18 months away from the office has given employees time to re-evaluate what they want from it, so employers will need to adapt.

"The office environment needed to change – the pandemic is speeding up this change which, I believe, will ensure it continues to play a key role in working-life." Read more on this story here.
